Midland Motor Club Notes


The Midland Motor Club held a Night Navigation Event on Saturday night, the 2nd of December, last. The event ran out of the Stag's Head in Ballinalee, Co. Longford. Congratulations are due to club members Patrick Higgins and Pascal Hennessy on a superb 1st overall win. It was Pascal's first time out and he had little trouble getting to grips with guiding Patrick around the 85 mile route. Other club members leading the way were Packie Duffy/Harry Bleakley, winning the Expert Class. Kevin Lunt/Eoin Longworth were close behind taking second place. Kenneth Prior/John McCorry took second place in the semi expert class while Dessie Brady/Kathleen Brady had a fantastic night taking second in the novice class. Also out on the night were Martin Quinn/Sean Heneghan finishing fifteenth overall and finishing their Ascona as well but are in the process of building a replacement. Andy Mackeral/Liam Higgins finishing 16th overall, Gerry McLoughlin/Richard Flynn 18th overall, Gerry Kelly/Richard Howard 19th overall and Thomas Daly/Ciaran Dwyer 22nd overall. Clerk of the Course was Paul Fitzpatrick and Assistant Clerk of the Course was Sam Johnston. Paul and Sam would like to thank the Stag's Head; which was used as the events headquarters and Aidan Brady for the use of his premises. They would also like to thank their sponsors; Longford Auto Factors, Communication Design, Kanes Bar and Robbie Shaw and all who helped out on the night. The clubs next meeting is in the Stag's Head in Ballinalee on Tuesday the 9th of January at 9pm.
