Midland Duo Victorious in Cork
The midland pairing of Packie Duffy (Drumlish) and Harry Bleakley (Clones) took the first place honours in the Cork Startrek Night Navigation Trial on Saturday the 20 January last. This Navigation Trial was part of the Munster Navigation Championship. The Midland crew came home first overall amongst a very strong field of local and national crews on what was commented on as a very tough event. Packie and Harry, both longstanding Midland Motor Club members, are on somewhat of a roll lately as they drove their Pikeman Inn VW Golf to a very impressive 3rd overall and 1st in the Expert class in the recent Midland Navigation Trial held in Ballinalee on the 2nd December last. The Midland event was a round of the Westcoast, Border and Cavan Drifters Championships. This finish was enough to earn Packie and Harry the Cavan Drifters Championship Title. They will receive their trophies at the prizegiving for this championship on the 3rd of February in Cavan. Harry and Packie would like to thank their sponsor; the Pikeman Inn in Ballinamuc. The next meeting of the Midland Motor Club takes place in the Miner's Bar Arigna on Tuesday the 13th of February at 9pm. New members welcome.
